One More Hurdle Cleared!

Today we got the BEST news ever! I was just sitting there, minding my own business at the office, when I happened to glance at my mobile phone and noticed I had a text.

As it turned out, the text was pretty much the best text I ever did see... and I've seen a lotta texts!

Wendy has chosen Jethro and I to be her hosts at Snow Valley Lodge for next season. This is such good news as we now have a place to live in Fernie, rent-free, for six months and our first job. The beauty of the hosting job is that I don't need to cook or clean for the house inhabitants, and I can hold down another job at the same time. Time to gen up on hot-tub maintenance, as that's part of the job decription, along with recycling all the cans and bottles, and generally welcoming people to the house and ensuring that they are well looked-after and happy!

This is such a weight off my mind personally, as I was worried about finding enough work to pay for my living expenses in Canada, and rent was a major factor of that. This takes the pressure off, and I should be able to earn enough to live on with just a bar job or waitressing thing... then I can snowboard during the day and get better at it!

I can't believe that I'll be staying in that lovely house and looking out at a view of the mountains every morning eating breakfast (and probably making pancakes for the rest of the house). It's just AWESOME!
